Curtis Trent

Curtis Trent’s first experience with photography had him arranging relatives in the open prairie. In many ways, this primary experience framed the basis for his future work, with an emphasis on environmental portraiture. He is inspired by the variety within photography, where one day you are shooting a child’s open-heart surgery, and another, a woman covered in moor mud. While light and composition are always central in his work, inspiration can come from something as simple as photographing his daughter’s Barbie’s on the kitchen floor.
